How to Find Ebooks
How to find electronic books at the Library @ Mohawk
- Electronic books, sometimes called e-books, are entire books that you can access on the Internet.
- While you cannot print an electronic book in its entirety, you can print single pages, jump instantly to specific chapters or page numbers, and search for key words within the text. In this way, an electronic book is more flexible to use than a regular print book.
- The Library @ Mohawk has purchased collections of electronic books for the students and staff of the College. These are licensed resources for which the Library pays a yearly subscription fee. For that reason, you will need to log in with your MoCoMotion username and password to access these electronic books from home. You will not need to log in to access electronic books from on-campus. - There are a wide variety of e-book collections available - each collection focuses on a different topic, for example, Safari Tech and Business books contains I.T., business and technology books while Books @ OVID contains nursing texts. Check the electronic books page to see what is available.
- In addition to these databases, there are also collections of free electronic books available on the Internet. These books are no longer under copyright and that is why they are freely available. Many of these titles are older fiction classics such as titles by Charles Dickens or Mark Twain. See below for links to some of these collections.
