RefWorks
Format your bibliography and track your research with a click. RefWorks is an online research management, writing and collaboration tool -- is designed to generate citations and bibliographies in seconds. It also helps gather, manage, store, and share all types of research information.
To access RefWorks you will need to log in with your MoCoMotion username and password. You will also need your individual RefWorks login to access your personal account and citations.

Modern Languages Association (MLA) launched a new edition (7th) of its citation handbook in summer 2009. There are many significant changes. As Mohawk College almost exclusively uses APA citation style, the Library did not update our MLA help sheets. Please consult the new MLA handbook for assistance with this style (Ref LB2369 .M53 2009) or the following guide:

You may be asked by your instructor to submit your paper to Turnitin. Learn what it's all about. VAIL (Virtual Academic
Integrity Laboratory)
Four 5 minute modules provide tips and strategies to avoid plagiarism; document sources; and understand academic integrity policies.
UCSC's Net Trail
The last 5 minute module, Info Ethics, highlights what constitutes plagiarism and how to avoid it. There's an optional quiz to cement understanding.
Turnitin
Turnitin's Originality Checking helps you proof your written work for improper citation or potential plagiarism by comparing it against Turnitin's huge database of information from journal articles, paper mills, and work previously submitted through Turnitin. The Originality Report highlights matches between your paper and other sources, flagging passages that require better paraphrasing or referencing.
